FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Straight answers: what is in the kit, how the licence works, what matches the WOMBAT-CS test and what is our own.

Product

Is this the official WOMBAT-CS test?

Wombat Preparation is independent software with the same kinds of tasks as the WOMBAT-CS test, adapted so you can prepare before the exam itself, when the stress of the unknown can trip you up. We do not use Aero Innovation Inc.'s official controls or equipment and we are not affiliated with them; WOMBAT and WOMBAT-CS are their trademarks. The point is to train memory, concentration and divided attention on a familiar format, so on test day you think about the task, not the interface.

Does practising guarantee that I pass the real test?

Practice gives you a familiar format, a clock that no longer surprises you and a score you can follow from session to session. Nobody can guarantee an exam result and we do not promise one. What is in your hands is how many times you have been through the tasks before you sit down at the real console.

How close is the simulator to the real console?

The three bonus tasks (Quadrant Location, Figure Rotation, Digit Cancelling) and the Worth indicator follow the formats described in the official WOMBAT-CS Candidate's Manual, so on test day you will be seeing them for the second time, not the first. The main task is ours: a radar task for keyboard and mouse, not a copy of the primary task on Aero Innovation's two-joystick console; the scoring is ours too, because Aero Innovation does not publish its exact formulas. The skills it trains are the same: divided attention and concentration against the clock while the bonus tasks keep interrupting you.

Which programmes use WOMBAT-CS?

Some airlines, cadet programmes and air navigation service providers use WOMBAT-CS, and that changes over time. We do not publish a list, because we cannot verify one or keep it current. If your invitation mentions WOMBAT-CS, that is all you need to start preparing; if you are not sure, ask your programme directly.

Do you cover FEAST, ATSA or other aptitude batteries?

The kit is made for the WOMBAT-CS test only: the four tasks, the Worth indicator and your session history. So we do not cover FEAST, ATSA or other aptitude batteries. If WOMBAT-CS is the test ahead of you, that is an advantage: every session in the trainer is on the format you will meet. If we add another test, we will say so here.

Licence and devices

How does the device licence work?

You pay once and the licence is for life, with ongoing support. It runs on one device at a time: to move to another computer, open your dashboard and close the active session, and the new device can sign in straight away. Switch as often as you like, for example between a laptop and a desktop.

Can I practise offline?

Yes. Once you have signed in on a device, the app keeps working without internet for up to 7 days after it last connected, so you can practise on a train, in a hotel the night before the test or wherever the connection is unreliable. It needs to connect at least once every 7 days to confirm the licence.

Payment and refunds

What is your refund policy?

You can try the kit without worrying: if within 14 days of purchase you have completed fewer than 3 sessions and decide it is not for you, we refund on request, once per customer. The law applies separately: consumers in the EU have 14 days to withdraw from an online purchase, but because the software is digital content delivered immediately, you give that right up when you tick the consent box at checkout. Your two-year legal guarantee of conformity always applies. The details are in our refund policy.

Is there a subscription?

There is a single payment: a €79 licence incl. VAT, for life and with ongoing support. No subscription, no renewal, no recurring charges. Pay once and practise as much as you like, right up to test day.

How is my payment handled?

Payment goes through Stripe's checkout page and your licence is active as soon as it completes. We never see or store your card details.

Technical

What are the system requirements?

An ordinary laptop or desktop is enough: Windows 10 (64-bit) or macOS 12 or later, on Intel or Apple Silicon, with 4 GB of RAM and 500 MB of free disk space. A keyboard and a mouse are all you need; no joystick or other special hardware.

Who do I contact for help?

Email support@wombatpreparation.com for account, billing or technical questions. The people who make the app answer, and we aim to reply within 2 business days.
